The California Organic Gardening Club (COGC) is a not-for-profit organization located within Orange County, California and the surrounding communities. COGC was established in 1989 by a group of dedicated gardeners committed to organic methods of growing plants.
The objectives of the club are to encourage organic gardening principles and methods through the sponsorship of activities and the education of the public. It is agreed that Organic Gardening is defined as the science and art of gardening to optimize the health, structure, and texture of the soil and promote the growth of plants without using synthetic products, such as chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or fungicides. It is further agreed that no genetically modified seeds or products based on genetically modified organisms will be used by the club.
